Several city parks (Het Park and Museumpark), the Veerhaven, a supermarket and various delicatessens are right around the corner. The trams with a direct connection to Eendrachtsplein, Central Station and the Stadsdriehoek are almost in front of the door, as well as the metro within walking distance. But the city center can also be reached on foot, by bike or by public transport within a few minutes.
Scheepstimmermanslaan:
This avenue is named after the shipyards between Boompjes and Scheepmakershaven, which were moved to Zalmhaven in 1703. The avenue ran along there. The avenue was originally a transverse dike, running from Schielands Hoge Zeedijk (Westzeedijk) to the Maas. Since the end of the 17th century it was known as the Keerberglaan after Daniel van Keerberge, who then owned property there. Because it ended on the Maas, it was also called 1st Maaslaan. She also appeared as Pontelaan because she led to the Ponteveer. On December 3, 1708, the council decided to pave the dike.
