Scheepstimmermanslaan:
This avenue is named after the shipyards between Boompjes and the Scheepmakershaven, which were moved to the Zalmhaven in 1703. The avenue was originally a cross dike, running from Schielands Hoge Zeedijk (Westzeedijk) to the Maas, because it ended at the Maas it was also called 1ste Maaslaan. On December 3, 1708, the council decided to pave the dike and today the street serves as a connecting road between the East and West sides of the district, embellished with a green strip and a park yet to be constructed (expected 2025).
